Message from Bryan Chen – First President of YHCCA

Looking back to early 2024, when I was in 10th grade, I wondered: "Beyond academics, is there something meaningful I can accomplish during my four years of high school?" Little did I know that a modest dream would gradually evolve into what YHCCA is today.

The journey was not without its challenges—from assembling the team to strategizing our direction. We pulled all-nighters, held endless discussions, and worked tirelessly to organize events and carry out volunteer activities; yet, the moment an event concluded successfully, all our exhaustion vanished. Looking back, those busy, fulfilling days have become the most cherished memories of my youth.

Over the past two-plus years, we have witnessed YHCCA grow from a mere idea into a platform that connects young people, serves society, and spreads goodwill. It has introduced us to like-minded partners and taught us a valuable lesson: while an individual’s power may be limited, the collective action of a group can bring warmth and kindness to many more people.

I have now graduated and am about to embark on a new journey in life. Yet, it is I who am graduating, not YHCCA. YHCCA has never belonged to any single individual; it belongs to everyone willing to contribute, take action, and share their love. Today, I pass the baton to you. I hope you will continue to trust and unite with one another, boldly experiment and take action, and venture into uncharted territory—accomplishing even more, and doing an even better job, than I could in the time I had.

We extend our gratitude to every student and friend who has dedicated their time outside of studies to public service, to every parent who has placed their trust, understanding, and support in us, and to Ms. Song Min for his constant encouragement and guidance.

We also offer special thanks to the twelve students who supported us from the very beginning—it was thanks to you that YHCCA took its first steps; your initial trust and participation made the YHCCA of today possible.

YHCCA began as a dream, was brought to life through the actions of many, and will continue to move forward as generation after generation carries the torch. When we reunite years from now and look back on these days of youth—find YHCCA still vibrant, still warm, and still full of strength. May we remain true to our original mission, passing the flame forward so that our spirit endures forever.

Message from Song Min – President of USCCCA

When 10th-grade student Bryan Chen approached me in early 2024 with a simple yet sincere idea, I never imagined that this concept—initially somewhat unrefined—would, through their persistence and action, evolve step by step into the YHCCA of today.
From a handful of founding students to a growing number of young participants, and from the planning and preparation of various events to serving the community, connecting youth, and fostering exchange—every step of YHCCA’s journey embodies the students' passion, sense of responsibility, and dedication. Often, they balance their studies with using their spare time to discuss activities, coordinate with partners, and solve problems. They may lack maturity or extensive experience, yet they are willing to try and dare to shoulder responsibility; above all, they are eager to devote their time and enthusiasm to a meaningful cause—and that in itself represents a rare and valuable form of personal growth.
The significance of founding YHCCA lies not merely in establishing a student organization, but—more importantly—in providing young people with a platform to pursue their dreams, serve others, explore the world, and develop themselves. It allows them to learn responsibility through real-world action, master communication through collaboration, cultivate perseverance in the face of adversity, and grasp the true meaning of public service and goodwill while helping others.

That is why I have always been willing to support them and give them the space they need.

Student affairs should be left to the students themselves to think through, put into practice, and shape creatively.

As teachers and mentors, we should not walk the entire path for them; instead, we should offer direction when they need it, provide assistance when they encounter difficulties, and extend understanding and support when they make choices.

We can offer guidance without imposing constraints; we can provide reminders without taking over; and while we can watch over them, it is even more important to place our trust in them.
I am particularly gratified that YHCCA has never been the endeavor of just one individual. It belongs to every young person who has participated and dedicated their time and heart to it, as well as to everyone who will join in the future and take up the baton.

Today, as the founding members of YHCCA prepare to graduate and embark on a new chapter of their lives, I would like to say to them:

Thank you, and congratulations.

You leave behind not merely an organization, but a cherished memory of your youth, a responsibility to be passed on, and a story demonstrating that kindness can be shared and carried forward.

And to the students who are about to take up the baton, I would like to say:

Please cherish this trust, and do not be afraid of change.

YHCCA need not remain forever as it was at the start. Times change and young people grow; YHCCA, too, must keep moving forward. You can embrace new ideas, experiment with new approaches, and step onto a grander stage. As long as you remain true to your original mission—acting with courage and a willingness to take responsibility—you have the power to take YHCCA to new horizons.

I hope that in the future, YHCCA will continue to connect young people with the world, serve the community and society, spread goodwill, and create value.

I also hope that every YHCCA member finds companionship, achieves personal growth, and discovers their own worth here—and shares that warmth with others.

I have always believed:

One person’s dream can light a single lamp; the actions of a group can illuminate a path; and the relay of successive generations allows that path to extend even further.

YHCCA began with the dreams of young people and has grown through their repeated actions.

May you set out true to your original aspirations and move forward with a sense of responsibility.

May YHCCA forever retain its youthful vitality, the warmth of its commitment to the public good, and the power of action.

May young people have dreams and the courage to pursue them;

May acts of kindness connect us and warm one another;

May the torch be passed on, ensuring the spirit lives on forever.
