YHCCA Volunteering at Mini Cat Town

Reported by Catherine Wang

On April 12, 2025, YHCCA members Catherine Wang, Bryan Chen, and Enchun Wu volunteered at Mini Cat Town, Milpitas, CA. According to Catherine Wang, a long time volunteer at Mini Cat Town, “volunteering has been a heartwarming, hands-on experience where I contributed to both kitten care and supporting potential adopters. My responsibilities included cleaning litter boxes, refilling food and water bowls, taking out trash, and ensuring a clean, welcoming space for both the cats and visitors. I also assisted with customer service by greeting guests, helping them interact with the cats, and answering questions about the adoption process. This experience not only deepened my love and compassion for animals, but also strengthened my communication and teamwork skills. Just as preserving natural spaces reflects our respect for the planet, caring for rescued kittens at Mini Cat Town reminded me of the power of compassion, community involvement, and creating safe spaces for all. By helping animals find loving homes and educating the public about responsible pet ownership, our volunteer efforts contribute to a more compassionate, connected, and humane community”.
