Ethan Teh

Self-introduction: My name is Ethan Teh, I’m a senior at Valley Christian High School in California. I play on the junior varsity volleyball team and enjoy both the sport and working with kids. I’ve volunteered at Santa Clara University’s counselor-in-training program, leading summer sports camps for children, and I’ve also had the opportunity to work with special need children. In addition, I’ve volunteered in the audio/visual team at Uchannel TV and gone on mission trips to Pine Ridge in South Dakota, and Trinidad, where I worked with local kids. Outside of that, I’m a 1st-degree black belt in Taekwondo, and I’ve been involved in DECA and the Wharton Investment Competition. One of my proudest moments was performing marimba at Carnegie Hall. Besides that, I also spent two years in an aeronautics club, where I built and tested a remote-controlled plane from scratch. I’ve also been accepted by the USNA’s summer STEM program and completed a week-long outdoor survival course with White Stag, both of which were challenging but rewarding experiences. In the near future, I hope to pursue higher education in college, majoring in business or a science-related field, while continuing to engage in volunteer work, especially helping children with special needs. I also look forward to continuing my volleyball career on a college team or other high-level volleyball teams, and finding a balance between academics and sports. Ultimately, I hope to combine my interests and talents to achieve success in the business or science fields, while continuing to give back to society and make a positive impact on children in need.
