Anna Wang

Self-introduction: My name is Anna Wang. I’m a senior at The Harker School with a strong passion for robotics, engineering, and community service. I’ve been deeply involved in robotics since middle school through both VEX and FRC competition teams as well as academic research. I led my team to win an award at the VEX World Championships, where meeting teams from around the world opened my eyes to the power of diverse perspectives in STEM and inspired me to work toward making STEM education accessible to students of all backgrounds. Robotics has given me a strong foundation in problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership, and it’s one of the main ways I’ve discovered my love for innovation and technology that I hope to share with others through my community service. I’ve contributed to a variety of volunteering efforts that align with my goal to share robotics and STEM with everyone, with the main one being the founding of my own robotics mentorship program that has helped many younger students join and experience competitive robotics for the first time. I’m proud to have helped many of them discover their passion for STEM. Since middle school I have also been tutoring English to underprivileged students in China and to students with special needs in US, helping them build confidence and communication skills through personalized support.  In my free time, I love cooking and exploring food photography, where I get to express my creativity and appreciation for different cultures through both a variety of different dishes as well as appealing visuals and photographs.
